Can you believe it's been nearly five months since Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters, becoming the biggest movie of last year and revealing what happens when a certain super-sorcerer messes with the multiverse?

In lieu of a post-credits scene, fans who stuck around till the end of that movie saw the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which finally arrives in theaters this month. The latest offering out of Marvel's cinematic universe is only one of the titles set for release in May, which also includes the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun, a Rescue Rangers reboot, a Firestarter remake and more.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange's magical meddling will unleash a multiverse of new threats in this spooky take on superheroics from director Sam Raimi. Benedict Cumberbatch is back as the eponymous doc, as are Elizabeth Olsen's newly-anointed Scarlet Witch and Benedict Wong's Sorcerer Supreme, with Xochitl Gomez joining the MCU as the universe-hopping America Chavez. You'll want to see this one soon to avoid having it spoiled.

Operation Mincemeat

A story so unbelievable it could only be true: At the height of World War II, British Intelligence hatch a scheme to trick Hitler and keep the Allied invasion of Sicily a secret. The plan involved a corpse, some falsified documents and the would-be writer of the James Bond books. Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Johnny Flynn and Jason Isaacs star in the war drama helmed by Shakespeare in Love director John Madden.

Firestarter

Nearly 40 years after Drew Barrymore first starred in Stephen King's fiery story of a young pyrokinetic, Firestarter is getting a reimagining from Blumhouse and The Vigil writer-director Keith Thomas. Actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong, having cut her teeth on American Horror Story: Double Feature, steps into the Charlie McGee role previously played by Barrymore, with Zac Efron as her father. John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies composed the score.

On the Count of Three

Jerrod Carmichael's directorial debut follows two friends over the course of what they hope will be the last day of their lives. A black comedy about a suicide pact might not be for everyone, but with Carmichael at the helm and co-starring alongside Christopher Abbott, you can bet you're in for something ambitious. The film also co-stars Tiffany Haddish, J.B. Smoove, Lavell Crawford, and Henry Winkler.

Senior Year

Rebel Wilson is going back to school, no acapella experience required this time. In Senior Year, she plays Stephanie Conway, who falls into a coma after a cheerleading stunt gone wrong. When she wakes up 20 years later, Steph, now 37, decides to return to high school to finish her senior year. The supporting cast includes Angourie Rice, Justin Hartley, Sam Richardson, Mary Holland, and Chris Parnell.

Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers

This isn't the Rescue Rangers you grew up on. Actually, in Disney's meta live action-animated requel, that series has been off the air for 30 years. Now, a down-and-out Chip (voiced by John Mulaney) and Dale (Andy Samberg) are reuniting for another adventure. Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers hails from The Lonely Island's Akiva Schaffer, with a screenplay by sitcom vets Dan Gregor and Doug Mand.

Downton Abbey: A New Era

Even the Crawleys are ready to get away. In this sequel to the Emmy-winning series and the 2019 film, everyone's favorite aristocrats head to the South of France. The returning original cast is joined by Downton newcomers Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West. Creator Julian Fellowes is once again behind the script, with filmmaker Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) assuming directing duties.

Men

From the visionary mind of writer-director Alex Garland (Ex Machina and Annihilation) comes a horror film that is sure to be as thought-provoking as it is nightmare-inducing. Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley plays a woman hoping to heal from the tragic death her husband by taking a holiday in the English countryside. Once there, however, she finds herself encountering stranger and stranger men, all of whom are played by Rory Kinnear.

Look At Me: XXXTentacion

In 2018, SoundCloud rapper XXXTentacion was shot and killed at the age of 20. Documentarian Sabaah Folayan looks back on his life using candid interviews with those who were closest to him and archival footage. The documentary explores how Florida teenager Jahseh Onfroy went on to become one of the most streamed artists in music, as well as one of the most controversial celebrities of his generation. The film premiered at SXSW ahead of its Hulu release.

Top Gun: Maverick

36 years have now passed since Tony Scott's Top Gun hit theaters back in the spring of '86. Fans of the hit action drama are finally getting this long-awaited sequel. Joseph Kosinski's Top Gun: Maverick returns Tom Cruise's Captain Pete Mitchell to the big screen where he is recruited by Val Kilmer's "Iceman" to instruct a new generation of hot shots. The Top Gun recruits include the son of his late best friend, Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), plus Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Monica Barbaro, Danny Ramirez, Jay Ellis and Manny Jacinto. Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris join the franchise as well.

The Bob's Burgers Movie

Downton Abbey isn't the only TV series getting the big screen treatment this spring. Once season 12 of the animated comedy series airs its series finale on May 22, the Belcher family -- Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene and Louise -- will take movie theaters by storm with their first feature-length adventure, which sees them dealing with a sinkhole in front of their restaurant that threatens to ruin their summer. The Bob's Burgers Movie hails from original creator Loren Bouchard and longtime series director Bernard Derriman.
