"Hey. You good?"

In Causeway, Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) stars as Lynsey, an Army Corps engineer who is forced to return from Afghanistan after suffering a brain injury. Reluctantly living back in her childhood home in New Orleans, Lynsey gets a job cleaning pools and soon strikes up an unlikely friendship with a local mechanic, James Aucoin (Brian Tyree Henry), who harbors past trauma of his own. Together, the two strangers find a safe space to heal.

"Look, if it get dark now, you just ride it, okay?" James instructs Lynsey in the trailer.

"Yeah," she tells him. And then asks, "How do I do that?"

The drama marks the feature debut of theater director Lila Neugebauer, who earned a Tony Award nomination for helming The Waverly Gallery on Broadway. The script is by Ottessa Moshfegh, Luke Goebel and Elizabeth Sanders, with Lawrence and Justine Ciarrocch producing under their Excellent Cadaver banner. The cast includes Jayne Houdyshell, Linda Emond, and Stephen McKinley Henderson.

Causeway premiered during the Toronto Film Festival and opens in select theaters and streams on Apple TV+ on November 4. Watch the trailer below.
