Light as a feather, stiff as a board has nothing on Bodies Bodies Bodies, the party game at the center of A24's upcoming slasher. Set at a mansion during a hurricane, the film follows a group of privileged Gen Zers whose binge drinking, drug snorting and general debauchery leads to a round of the titular "Bodies Bodies Bodies."
"If you draw the piece of paper that has the X on it, you are the murderer," Amandla Stenberg's Sophie explains the rules in the trailer. "And if you're the murderer, you have to kill someone by touching them on the back. Everyone else has to avoid being killed."
Except this time, the kills are real. So, who will survive a night of gaslighting, triggering and murder? And who's taking the game to a new bloody level? In addition to Stenberg, Bodies Bodies Bodies stars Rachel Sennott, Chase Sui Wonders, Myha'la Herrold and Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova, alongside Pace and Pete Davidson.
Dutch actress-turned-filmmaker Halina Reijn is at the helm. The slasher was written by Sarah DeLappe, Chloe Okuno, Joshua Sharp, Aaron Jackson, and Kristen Roupenian, who wrote the viral 2017 short story Cat Person for The New Yorker (which is being adapted into a thriller of its own). The movie also features a new original track by Charli XCX.
Bodies Bodies Bodies hits theaters on August 5. Watch the official trailers below.
