This is one of those rare movies that will make you laugh and cry in the same watch. The Green Book co-stars Mahershala Ali as musician Don Shirley and Viggo Mortensen as his driver/security Tony Lip—real-life road buddies traveling through the tumultuous South who formed such a special friendship they made an Oscar-winning movie about it. Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig's Oscar-nominated solo directorial debut, borrows heavily from Gerwig's own childhood growing up in Sacramento, California.
