A great Julia Roberts rom-com nearly always includes a meet cute with a swoon-worthy guy, plenty of hijinks and ultimately a ride off into the sunset. Her newest romantic comedy — her first in 20 years — is a little different: In Ticket to Paradise, the sunset is in the review for Roberts and George Clooney, who play bitter divorcees.

The exes are forced to reunite when they travel to Bali to attend their daughter's (played by Kaitlyn Dever) wedding to a man she just met. In order to help her avoid the same mistake they made, her parents hatch a scheme to stop the impending nuptials. "We need to trick her into dumping him," Roberts' character says in the trailer. "As much as this will pain us both, we have to call a truce to make this work."

Ticket to Paradise marks an onscreen reunion for Roberts and Clooney, who previously starred together in Ocean's Eleven (2001), Ocean's Twelve (2004) and Money Monster (2006). She's a four-time Oscar nominee who won Best Actress in 2001 for Erin Brockovich. Clooney is a two-time Oscar winner, winning Best Actor with 2005's Syriana and Best Picture for 2012's Argo, which he produced. (He has six additional nominations.)

Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) directed the rom-com from a script he co-wrote with Daniel Pipski. The movie's cast also includes Billie Lourd, Lucas Bravo and Maxime Bouttier.

Ticket to Paradise arrives in theaters on Oct. 21. Watch the trailer below.
