"The sad sack story is Michael J. Fox gets this debilitating disease, and it crushes him."
"Yeah," Michael J. Fox considers for a moment in the trailer for the documentary Still. Then, as defiant as ever, adds, "That's boring."
The actor and advocate (and recent honorary Oscar winner) looks back on his life — his public life as a bona fide movie star, as well as his private life following his Parkinson's diagnosis at the age of 29 — in the film from Oscar-winning documentarian Davis Guggenheim (2006's An Inconvenient Truth). Through candid home videos, never-before-seen archival footage and sit-down interviews, Still explores "what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease." Or as Fox himself puts it, "I'm a tough son of a b***h."
Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie premieres on Apple TV+ on May 12. Watch the trailer below.
