The countdown to the 96th Oscars is on!
This time last year, we were all wondering which of the year's best films would ultimately be named Best Picture — an honor that went to Everything Everywhere All at Once. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert's multiversal masterpiece went on to take home seven Oscars in total and made Oscars history by winning in all three of the acting categories in which it was nominated. (It became only the third film to do so, after A Streetcar Named Desire in 1952 and Network in 1977.)
This year, 10 more films are vying for Best Picture — with Oscars to be handed out in all 23 categories — and the potential for more history to be made anew. Ahead of the ceremony, here is everything you need to know about the 96th Oscars.
When and where is the 96th Oscars?
This year's Oscars ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 10 at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
Who's hosting the ceremony?
Jimmy Kimmel is hosting this year's Oscars — it will be his fourth time doing so — which is being executive produced by Raj Kapoor (who also serves as showrunner), Molly McNearney, and Katy Mullan.
Which films are nominated this year?
Oppenheimer is the year's most-nominated film, with 13 total nominations, including Best Picture, Best Directing, and three acting nominations. Poor Things follows with 11 nominations, and then Killers of the Flower Moon with 10 nominations.

This year's Best Picture nominees are: American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, Poor Things, and The Zone of Interest.

Nominations for the 96th Oscars were announced on Tuesday, Jan. 23. Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid hosted the live nominations presentation from the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
Who's presenting?
Last year's quartet of Oscar-winning actors — Actress in a Leading Role winner Michelle Yeoh, Actor in a Leading Role winner Brendan Fraser, Actress in a Supporting Role winner Jamie Lee Curtis and Actor in a Supporting Role winner Ke Huy Quan — are returning to the Oscars stage as presenters.
The slate of presenters also includes Mahershala Ali, Bad Bunny, Nicolas Cage, Chris Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, Regina King, Kate McKinnon, Jessica Lange, Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew McConaughey, Rita Moreno, John Mulaney, Lupita Nyong'o, Catherine O'Hara, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sam Rockwell, Octavia Spencer, Ramy Youssef, and Zendaya.
