Before Arnold Schwarzenegger's commando Dutch Schaefer, there was Naru.

The Predator franchise is getting a prequel in Prey, set 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation. The first trailer for this latest entry introduces its heroine, Naru (played by Amber Midthunder), a young warrior who dreams of joining her tribe's great hunters. When a certain extraterrestrial trophy hunter arrives, she sets out to prove herself or die trying.

Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is at the helm, directing from a script by Patrick Aison. Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, Julian Black Antelope and newcomer Dakota Beavers co-star, with Dane DiLiegro as the Predator.

Prey marks the fifth installment in the Predator franchise, which was rebooted in 2018's The Predator but began with the Schwarzenegger-starring 1987 original. That first Predator earned an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects at the 60th Academy Awards.

Prey is streaming on Hulu on August 5. Watch the trailer below.
