The first teaser trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has been unveiled, introducing a new puzzle to be solved — literally, in this case — and a new cast of suspects as Daniel Craig's Detective Benoit Blanc travels to Greece to peel back the layers on his next murder mystery.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you expected a mystery," the private investigator narratives in his distinct Southern drawl. "You expected a puzzle. But for one person on this island, this is not a game."

The first trailer highlights Glass Onion's ensemble cast, including Edward Norton as tech billionaire Miles Bron, who's hosting the Mediterranean getaway for his nearest and dearest. Janelle Monáe plays Cassandra "Andi" Brown, the co-founder of Bron's company, with Kathryn Hahn as Connecticut Governor Claire Debella, Leslie Odom Jr. as scientist Lionel Toussaint, Kate Hudson as fashionista-turned-athleisure designer Birdie Jay, and Dave Bautista as YouTube star Duke Cody. Jessica Henwick and Madeline Cline play Hudson and Bautista's character's assistants, respectively.

"Lock the doors. Stay in your rooms," Blanc instructs them later in the teaser. "Everyone is in danger."

Like 2019's Knives Out, which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay, Glass Onion is from writer-director Rian Johnson. "Aaaand here it is!" he tweeted when the preview dropped. "I promise no spoilers, but if you want to come in totally cold, last chance to keep scrolling…"

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival before streaming on Netflix on Dec. 23. Watch the trailer below.
